A fine George III mahogany kettle stand, dating from the early 19th century, retaining elegant proportions and a beautiful warm patina. The square top is enclosed by a finely shaped gallery above a crisply reeded frieze, all raised on slender reeded tapering legs terminating in the original brass castors.
The stand is fitted with a practical pull out slide. The restrained elegance of the design reflects the refined taste of the late George III period, where functionality was combined with understated decoration.
