A charming pair of English treen vessels dating from the 18th century.

The first is a beautifully turned olive wood spice cup with its original domed lid, displaying the rich honey-coloured figuring and warm patina characteristic of aged olive wood.

The second is an elegant drinking cup, finely turned from coconut shell and mounted on a rosewood pedestal and cover finial. The natural texture and colour variation of the coconut shell contrast beautifully with the deep tones of the rosewood.

Both pieces retain an excellent original patina and are fine examples of traditional English treen craftsmanship from the Georgian period.
