A rare seventeenth-century English oak chest of drawers, distinguished by its striking architectural arrangement of moulded panel drawers set in symmetrical formation. Each drawer retains brass drop handles, while decorative escutcheons and a carved geometric frieze enhance its strong period character. Raised on shaped bracket-style feet and built with the bold proportions typical of the Charles II era, this chest reflects the transition from earlier joined furniture traditions to more sophisticated cabinetmaking. Rich in patina and increasingly difficult to find, it is a fine example of seventeenth-century English craftsmanship.
